There is a reason that I don't coach my son's baseball team. Stay with me here. Just as a little league baseball game can be stressful and oftentimes emotional for a twelve year old, applying to college is not only stressful, it is one of the most important—and emotionally challenging—experiences students face in high school.

In these moments, students often benefit from guidance that comes from outside the family. Even the most well-intentioned advice can be hard for young adults to hear from their parents, simply because of the emotional dynamics involved. A dedicated college counselor provides a trusted third-party perspective—bringing clarity, structure, and calm to the process. From decision-making and application strategy to essay development and deadlines, I help students move forward efficiently and thoughtfully, reducing stress while increasing confidence and success.

Every student’s journey is different, which is why there’s no single “right” timeline. That said, the most successful outcomes tend to come when we begin working together by sophomore or junior year of high school. Starting early allows us to thoughtfully shape academic choices, extracurricular involvement, and long-term goals—rather than rushing decisions senior year.
